Faculty Must Complete EDI Statements to Win Grants but Only 'Correct' Statements are Successful

An engineering professor recently told me that “engineers will say anything” to get a grant, joking that they’d throw their own mothers under the bus if it improved their prospects. It seems throwing their principles comes just as easy.
